The Morane-Saulnier 230 was a two-seater, aerobatic aircraft of mixed construction (wood, metal and canvas) intended for progression training of student pilots onto fighter aircraft. Ih France the type iss intimately associated with the 1930's Patrouille d'Étampes aerobatic team, which would two decades later become the Patrouille de France. Hence, No. 1048 is on display upside down. This photo is copyright © Alastair T. Gardiner, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
