The Mistral was a French development of the DH.100 Vampire Mk 5 and the very first jet to equip their air force, being in service from 1952 until 1961. In total 247 (I see different numbers quoted, this is from the museum) of the type was built at Marignane between 1951 and 1953. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
