NAS Cubi Point as seen from an altitude of about 10,000 feet. I took this slide from a VA-93 A-7A. The area above the runway going out into Subic Bay is the Carrier Air Wing ramp. It was for use by air wings when the carrier was in port. Normally carriers tied up to the Subic Bay Naval Station pier. At right in the photo is part of Subic Bay Naval Station. The long pier running horizontally to the shore is the carrier pier. NAS Cubi Point and Subic Bay Naval Base closed in 1992.
