Struck off charge in April 1942. The RCAF operated 15 Canadian built Grumman G-23s, bought to keep the CCF production line ticking over until Hurricane production began. The CCF production line and the "sale" of 40 aircraft to Turkey were a ruse to get around an embargo on the supply of weapons to Republican Spain.
