Based at Kirtland AFB (NM) the 550th SOS of the US Air Force participated with one of their HC-130N's in a SAR excercise in the vicinity of Calgary in May 2005. Nowadays 69-5829 is in use as an instructional airframe at Kirtland ever since the the squadron was disbanded in 2016.
