Equipped with a swept wing, the Mystère IV was capable of reaching Mach 1 in a dive. In total 411 frames were produced between 1954 and 1958, at first with the Rolls-Royce Tay engine or later with the more powerful Verdon. This example is in reality 105 although it is on display in the colours of a 2e escadre (2nd squadron) plane. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
