After being fitted with a Pegasus engine and canopy, K3012 was shipped to Canada for cold weather trials . It was tested on skis during its time in Canada. Note that Sweden had been operating Harts with Pegasus engines since 1934. When K3012 was returned to the UK in 1939 it became an instructional airframe.
