The CL-215 was the first plane ever designed solely for firefighting. In total Canadair produced 125 sold to seven different countries. The Sécurité civile used the CL-215 since 1969, with the last flight of taking place in October, 1996 being superceded by to the more powerful CL-415. This example arrived at the museum for display in April 2009. This photo is copyright © Alastair T. Gardiner, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
