This Yak-40 was originally delivered to MAP Moscow (in standard blue Aeroflot colours) in March 1974 as CCCP-87351, subsequently RA-85731. It became EL-CAR around November 1996 and flew with Ales Airlines. Towards the end of the decade it transferred to Lorenzo Construção but was impounded at Milan (LIN) due to customs irregularities. After an attempted auction of the plane was unsuccessful, it sat wfu for some years at LIN until transported to Volandia for display. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
