This was the original Douglas DC-9 prototype, registered as N9DC. After all flight testing was complete, TTA bought the a/c and Douglas removed all the test equipment and configured it to a DC-9-14 standard. It was reregistered as N1301T and was the first TTA DC-9. When delivered to TTA on 30 September 1966 it had already logged 579 flight hours. It had a good life, finally retiring in 1991 after operating with multiple owners.
