This B-45 spent most of its active life assigned to various test units. Delivered to USAF 21 December 1948. Converted to an EDB-45A in February 1951, then to a EQB-45A in September 1952. Its final configuration was JQB-45A in November 1955. Retired on 16 April 1959 and transferred to the US Navy in August 1959. In 1963 it was sent to the China Lake Naval Weapons Center. Recovered from there in 1980 it was taken to the Castle Air Museum for restoration. This slide shows the original markings applied by the museum.
