This shot needed a loooong time waiting for the large floor area to be free of people - finally! This P-26 was operated by the Army Air Corps from 1934 until being transferred to the Panama Canal Department Air Force in 1938. It was given to Guatemala in 1942 and flew in their AF until 1954 and subsequent donation to the Smithsonian NASM in 1957. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
