This Helldiver was built in May 1945 but the war ended before it saw any combat. It served with VB-92 aboard the USS Lexington, flying in the western Pacific and occupied Japan. It was retired in 1948 and entered the Smithsonian National Air Museum collection in 1960 and is now on display at the NASM Udvar-Hazy Center.. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
