VA-122 normally had at least one T-28 assigned. They were used for target practice spotting aircraft in support of weapons training. In 1977 VA-122 was an A-7 training squadron based at NAS Lemoore. The squadron still exists (VFA-122), and now trains aircrew in the F/A-18 Super Hornet. This photo is copyright © Bob Thomas, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
