Australian warbird Harvard VH-SFY is painted as NZ934. It has the code "34" in line with normal RNZAF practice. However the real NZ934 carries the code 14 in this photo, presumably a stencilling error. VH-SFY does have two unusual features of NZ934 - the serial on the rudder instead of the fuselage and and the sash on the rear fuselage. The RNZAF used bands. NZ934 was sold for scrap in 1958.
