This Eagle started factory fresh its USAF career at Soesterberg air base on 7 July 1980. It was transferred to the 57th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Keflavik (Iceland) on 25 September 1992. It stayed there up to February 1995. The Eagle moved to the 325th Fighter Wing at Tyndal AFB (FL) and eventually from June 2010 to the massive storage depot at Davis Monthan (AZ). As 'Rambo04', the pilot of this 79-0021 - then assigned to the 525th TFS / 36th TFW at Bitburg, shot down an Iraqi Mirage F1EQ with AIM-7 air to air missile on 19 January 1991.
