Delivered to the Flugwaffe on 12 June 1969, nicknamed 'Mata-hari' (see nose section). The rercce Mirage was modified with canards in March 1991 and acted for this modification as a testbed at Bordeaux-Merignac (France). The Mirage made its last flight on 17 December 2003 and was stored at Buochs up to 2007. It was then preserved at the Flieger-Flab-Museum at Dübendorf.
