Originally built new for the USAF as F-5E s/n 73-0872. Transferred to the USN for use by the Navy Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun). On 18 April 2003, while assigned to VFC-13, this a/c was destroyed in a fatal crash near NAS Fallon, Nevada.
