This F-5E was delivered new to the South Vietnamese Air Force in 1974. In April 1975 it was flown to Thailand as South Vietnam fell. It was returned to the U.S. for the USAF with s/n 73-0900. After being used for several years as an aggressor a/c by them, it was transferred to the US Navy and assigned Bureau Number 160796.
