Photo appears to show NZ3246 in open storage at RNZAF Rukuhia, as Hamilton aerodrome was known then. Hundreds of World War II surplus aircraft were held in open storage there, cockpit canopies open to the weather, pending sale to scrap merchants. This was the fate of NZ3246.
