This was one of 15 (essentially) converted Cessna Model 195 aircraft acquired by the USAF for Artic rescue duties. This example on display at the National Museum of the USAF wears the markings it carried whilst serving with the 10th Rescue Squadron at Elmendorf AFB, AS in 1949.
