On April 19, 1954, NZ5901 crashed landed at Mauripur, Pakistan. The accident left the aircraft badly damaged, its back broken, undercarriage collapsed and engines hanging from the wings. Parts of the aircraft were shipped to Bristol in the UK for rebuilding. Sources say only the tail and engines reused and the rest of the airframe scrapped. NZ5901 was lost during a supply drop in the Cameron Highlands, Malaysia on December 10, 1956 when it struck a ridge. Photo from: Air Force Museum of New Zealand
