Nicknamed the 'Flying Razor' by Royal Flying Corps pilots at the end of WWI this superb fighter arrived just too late to have any effect on the course of the war. This replica was built by E Swearingen in the 1960s with input from the original designer Rheinhold Pfalz and now hangs proudly in the Museum of Flight. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
