This 312 was originally intended for MEA but the sale fell through and instead the frame was placed with CAAC and delivered in June 1985. It went to China Eastern in May1988, then China Northwest in June 1992 and back to China Eastern in August 2003. It is pictured about to taxy out for departure back to China. The plane was retired in September 2006 and is now preserved in the China Civil Aviation Museum in Beijing. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
