This Hurricane was built in June 1941 and TOC with the RCAF as 5487, however it was written off a few months later in Newfoundland when the pilot was practicing night time aerobatics. The wreck was placed into storage until it given over for restoration in the mid-1990s. It made its first post-restoration flight in July 2014 and is pictured in the static at this amazing show wearing this silver overall, Southern Rhodesian Air Force scheme, as denoted by the red band around the aft fuselage.
