This is the sole Sherpa ever built, the aircraft having been developed to test an aeroisoclinic wing design, which it was hoped would be suitable for use on tailless aircraft designs. Its most notable feature was that the wingtips, comprising of about one-fifth of the total wing area, could pivot and acted as control surfaces. The wing now fitted is a replica, the original having been discarded many years ago. This photo is copyright © Fergal Goodman, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
