Built for the Pakistan air force (serial 95626) but delivery stopped by a 1993 arms embargo. Placed in storage with a USAF serial. In 1998 it became one of 28 Pakistani F-16s set aside for the RNZAF and was to become NZ6554. In 2002 the new Labour government disbanded the RNZAF's fast jet operations. 92-0460 remained in storage at Davis-Monthan until the USN acquired it for adversary training.
