Originally built in 1966 as JA8016 for Japan Air Lines, this aircraft was sold United Air Carriers as N970R in 1980 and converted to a freighter. It was subsequently leased to a host of US outfits as N907R and N812TC, with just a couple of years out in the mid-1980s as ST-AJD with TAAT. In 2002 it was sold to MK Airlines as 9G-MKT and spent some time stored at Bristol Filton, but in 2007 it was sold to the Congolese carrier Hewa Bora Airways as 9Q-CHM and last reported stored at Kinshasa after that airline failed in July 2011.
