The aircraft had recently been restored at Santa Paula by Moth expert the late Dave Watson in the colours of Ontario Provincial Air Service to whom it was delivered new in 1928 and went on to serve with them for the next 20 years. Later, after being sold in the USA, it was one of two camera ships used in the filming of the 1957 Lindberg epic "Spirit of St. Louis" and was subsequently flown by Charles Lindberg himself from Santa Paula.
