Ex N4222A, NACA 108, 44-13257. Delivered new to NACA Ames Aeronautical Laboratory, NAS Moffett Field, CA in March 1944 and registered as NACA 108. Modified by NACA for high speed research.and used for dive tests at Langley, VA. Sold in 1957 as N4222A. Remanufactured in December 1967 as the Cavalier F-51D Mk II prototype. Became N51DL in 1972.
