Martin Baker, the manufacturer of those famous ejection seats reported that this RF-4C was written off on 17 February 1993. The USAF confirmed the incident, but without any further details. Best news is that both crew survived the ejection, but the Recce Spook was fully destroyed. The incident most probably took place at of near homebase Birmingham (AL). The Phantom is here shown at the static of Oceana. This photo is copyright © Stephan de Bruijn, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
