The aircraft was the personal aircraft of the late champion golfer Arnold Palmer, note his trademark golfing umbrella symbol just aft of the cockpit window, and was one of his seven Citations to carry that registration. In April 1988 it came on to the British register as G-HOTL, but in May 1989 it returned to the USA as N999WA and in 1996 it was converted to Citation II/SP standard with the new c/n 551-0095; it's 10th and last registration was N48DK which was cancelled as expired in September 2022.
