Gaylord Regional Airport is a seasonal base firefighting for aircraft protecting Michigan's Lower and Upper Peninsulas. In July 2018, the fleet included an Air Tractor AT-802F Fire Boss, N212FB, from Air Spray Inc. of Appleton, MN with a 800 US gallon water tank; Aero Commander 500B bird dog, C-GJMA from Mag Aerospace in Ontario; and a Bell 206L-4, N19BH from Brainerd Helicopter Service in Leesburg, FL. In early 2023, Air Spray Inc. operated 12 AT-802s. The Minnesota-based company is not affiliated with Air Spray USA based in Chico, California or Air Spray in Red Deer, Alberta.
