Ex W1731. Originally built as an Anson XI. Registered G-ALXH 16 January 1950. Rebuilt in 1955 to Anson 19/2 standard, being re-engined and using the fuselage of PH808. Shortly after taking off from Leeds-Bradford en route to Belfast on 9 April 1963, smoke filled the cockpit and it was thought the starboard engine had failed, whereupon that engine was shut down and a forced landing attempted in a field near Guiseley, Yorkshire, in which substantial damage was incurred. The three occupants were uninjured. Cancelled 14 May 1963 as destroyed. This photo is copyright © Mike Cain, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
