The painted serial number "488656" is fictitious, it was painted to represent a USAF Thunderbirds formation team F-84D serial 48-656; the correct type is fact YF-84A and the correct serial 45-59494. After the Octave Chanute Aerospace Museum closed in 2015 the exhibits were dispersed and this aircraft is now displayed at the Discovery Park of America, Union City, TN.
