The first aircraft built by Australian aviation pioneer Arthur Butler. He hoped to fly the aircraft to the UK. Plans to replace the unreliable Hermes engine with a Gipsy were abandoned when the aircraft was damaged in storage after an earlier accident. VH-UPE was then scrapped.
