The Lerwick was a failure, unstable on the water and in the air. It was still pressed into service with No 209 Sqn in late 1940, but withdrawn from operational duties already in May 1941. Eleven out of 23 examples built were lost in accidents. L7265 is seen near RAF Wig Bay at Stranraer.
