This early Fishbed-C version was rather unpopular with pilots due to the forward hinged canopy, which (they believed) would lessen their survival chances during ejection. This aircraft served with 11 Fighter Aviation Regiment in Debrzno, 40 FAR in Swidwin and finally with 4 FAR in Goleniow before retirement to the Polish Aviation Museum in 1990.
