Delivered in January 1945 to Canada's 430 Sqdn at Eindhoven, RM927 was one of few Griffon-powered Spitfires to have been engaged on the European front in combat and recce missions. On 9 March 1945 it was damaged by flak, but following storage it was passed to the Belgian AF in 1947, receiving serial SG-25 and code 3R-D, later I-QW. After accidental damage in 1952 it went back into storage and was retired in 1954. Passing from workshop to workshop, later intentions to rebuild it were stalled but restoration was eventually completed by Richard Grace at Sywell in 2021, G-SXIV being allocated.
