TA122 is one of the few FB Mk.IVs built at Hatfield as FB.VI, entering RAF service with 605 Sqn in March 1945. It was SOC in June 1950 in Germany and stored at RAF Celle as a spare source. The airframe was used for student instruction at the Delft Technical University in the Netherlands from 1951 to 1964 but, unfortunately, the wings were destroyed in 1958. Acquired by first RNAF Museum in 1978 and then by the de Havilland Museum for restoration, which used wings from Sea Mosquito TR.33 TW233 retrieved from Israel. This hangar contains the world's largest collection of surviving Mosquitos. This photo is copyright © Alastair T. Gardiner, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
