Zalužani was originally a tank training area of the Yugoslav army, but was taken over by the air force of the Republika Srbska as a helicopter base. A great many Mi-8 helicopters were stored on one of the track. These were used as a spares source for the Mi-8 fleet. After unification of the armed forces of Republika Srbska and the Bosnian Federation the helicopters moved to nearby Banja Luka - Malhovljani airport. These stored hulks have probably been scrapped.
