Great Lakes built 61 BG-1 dive bombers for the US Navy and USMC. They remained in frontline use with the Marines until 1940 and shore use into 1941. It was notable for its 1000 pound bomb load compared of the 500 pounds of the contemporary Vought SBU and Curtiss SBC.
