Undated negative from FNG archive. Delivered 1960, withdrawn Orly 1980 and scrapped. Rolls Royce Avon powered Caravelle IIIs did not have thrust reverse but in early times a brake chute for emergencies. Poor braking action at the destination could result in an early decision for diversion. Never a regular, two Caravelles had been diverted to Nuremberg in this view. By the late 1960's engines became polished metal instead of white and the polished belly was painted light grey dating this image to the mid to late 1960's.
