This was one of three VIP transports that served with the Luftwaffe. This example carried the serial 1702 (17+02) and has the claim to fame in that it brought the West German delegation, headed by Chancellor Helmut Kohl, to Berlin to sign the treaty for German unification on 31st August 1990.
