After an absence of probably five years, three Volga-Dnepr An-124 flights were carried out through AMS within two weeks, final destination Cayenne in French Guiana. Some rescheduling by VDA resulted in RA-82081 performing the third run, in stead of 82047 that was on the first two. This job for the European Space Agency is carried out shortly after Volga-Dnepr stepped out of SALIS, the Strategic Airlift Interim Solution contract with NATO. Not very elegant from this angle, yet very impressive. This photo is copyright © Erik Sleutelberg, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
