With a short take-off capability and a powerful rate of climb the CF-100 was ideal as an interceptor and so formed an integral part of the US-Canadian North American Air Defense (NORAD) system. This Canuck is painted to appear as a 428 Squadron Mk.4A from the mid-1950s and is now on display at the National Museum of the USAF. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
