It was a thrill to see this great aircraft approach its home base of Suwon just prior to phase out of the type with the South Korean Air Force. This aircraft has USAF s/n 78-0734 and belongs to the final batch of Phantoms produced in the USA (the final final batch was a number of aircraft for the Iranian Air Force, but these aircraft were never completed after the 1979 revolution in that country; Mitsubishi continued to build Phantoms in Japan until 1981).
