Built for the US Navy as a T-28C Bu 140576. SOC 15 Oct 1964. Under MAP assigned to the Democratic Republic of Congo Air Force in Sep 1964 as 576, code FA-576, later as FG-576. Later renamed Zaire Air Force. WFU 29 Sep 1975. Registered N99141 in November 1977. Ferried to the USA via Biggin Hill where it arrived on 16 Dec 1977 and departed on 17 Apr 1978. To N289RD in Jan 1979 and still current in 2023. There is some confusion with this aircraft and c/n 226-93 which went to N99153.
