65 miles west of the Namibian coast a USAF C-141B Starlifter collided with this Luftwaffe Tupolev 154M in mid-air on Sept. 13th, 1997. The C-141B, 65-9405 was op. by the 305th AMW; the Tupolev used the call sign GAF 074 and was an Open Skies aircraft.
