This An-2 was originally delivered to WSK Mielec in April 1979 but went almost immediately to Aeroklub Zagreb as YU-BMA. As Yugoslavia started to break up the plane was press-ganged into the Croatian AF as an impromtu bomber and later was registered RC-BMA (although this was never carried) and 9A-BMA in August 1992.
